Traffic Update...Non - Injury Accident on Hwy 4 and Chain Controls Update.
Arnold, CA...Crews are working a non-injury accident on Hwy 4 below Cottage Springs. A Jeep has overturned and all parties are out of the vehicle but an overturned Jeep off the roadway may affect traffic for a bit in this location as they remove it. Over in Tuolumne there is a man walking out into the roadway on Mono Way and Tuolumne Road. Chain controls are in effect on Hwy 4 from Camp Connell on up. From Ham's Station on up on Hwy 88 and from just east of Strawberry on up on Hwy 108. Lets be careful out there..

So many times I see folks driving like a mad man trying to get to the mountain first (Bear Valley) - Speeding, dangerous passing, etc. Slow down, have patience, if you want to get there early, leave early. It will ruin your day when you end up losing it in an icy corner and spinning of the road - or flipping your jeep! Not much to gain by speeding but maybe all of 5 minutes. I'll watch these guys pass me but end up parking next them in Bear Valley Parking lot.

I live in Arnold and see the same people speeding through town to get to Bear Valley. Maybe if they get a speeding ticket in Arnold then they will slow down to their destination.

They used to give tickets in the 40MPH zone by Meadowmont, haven't seen CHP there in a while. CHP does enforce at Meko Mile pretty vigorously. I had to smile the other day as someone passed a line of cars at Meko Mile going up the hill. He was in the passing lane as he passed us and CHP Officer Dave. Lights go on ticket is issued!

I sure miss Tim Moon. I saw him stop 6 cars at once in downtown Arnold. Pretty impressive! Took him over 45 minutes to write them all up. Am sure that put a dent in their ski time.
