Theresa (Tess) M. Vatuone, 12/29/1922 - 3/3/2013
Arnold, CA...Theresa (Tess) M. Vatuone passed away peacefully on 3/3/2013. Tess was born in San Jose California on 12/29/1922, the youngest of four children to Philip and Mary Cancilla. She was raised in San Jose, graduated from San Jose High School, and in 1946 married her life-long love, Albert Vatuone. After retirement, in 1984, they moved to Arnold, CA where they lived for the next 15 years. After 10 years in Tucson AZ, Tess moved back to Angels Camp, CA to be close to family...
Tess spent most of her time as a homemaker, and a terrific mom/grandmother. She also worked part time in the retail and clerical occupations. She loved to play golf in her younger years and later was an avid bridge player. Tess loved to sing, she was great at telling jokes, always lovedto make people laugh and feel happy about life.
Tess was predeceased by; her husband of 59 years, Albert in 2005; and eldest sister, Jay Wright.
She is survived by son, Timothy (Carolyn) Vatuone of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Suzan (Matt) Cullen of Murphys, CA; grandchildren, Brian (Melissa) Dutton, Theresa L. Vatuone and Christopher Vatuone; great-granddaughters, Bailey & Mira Dutton; sisters, Ellie Miller and Carmen (Ray) Bernal; several very dear nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 620 Sheep Ranch Road, Murphys, CA 95247 at 11 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 with a celebration of life reception in the church hall immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras, 1500 S. Hwy 49, Suite 205, Jackson, CA 95642.
