Dedication of Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys
Murphys, Ca...On Saturday March 9 at 11AM, the NSGW and the NDGW unveiled a plaque, installed on the pillars at the entry to the cemetery, dedicating Buena Vista Cemetery. The cemetery holds the remains of many of the original pioneers of the area and their descendants, with the earliest gravestone having a date of 1855 although there may have been burials earlier...
The NSGW led the cermonial speeches dedicating the cemetery to the historic past and to the future. The event was a collaboration between the NSGW, NDGW, Boone Memorials and the Murphys Cemetery District. There were well over a hundred people in attendence with members of the NSGW coming from as far away as Los Angeles.
