Health Fair and Lupus Fun Run Hightlight Health Services
Murphys, CA...Recently Mark Twain Medical Center held its 4th Annual Health Fair and Lupus Fun/Run Walk at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. Over forty community health related service groups participated and provided a wealth of information on topics such as senior health services, nutrition, fitness and diabetes. The 4th Annual Calaveras 5k Fun/Run Walk for Lupus Awareness in memory of Linda Jean Mundy was also held and cordinated by her brother and Mark Twain Foundation team member Paul Mundy.
Some comments on the event from MTMC President Craig Marks...“Our Mission is to improve the greater health of our greater community by providing quality health care services, exceeding the expectations of those we serve,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “Holding our Health Fairs in various locations is both a part of our Mission and something to which we look forward. Our ability to provide vital low cost and free health services to our community is a privilege, along with partnering with community groups to sponsor fun run/walks. Not only do these raise funds for a good cause, they also provide opportunities for friends and family to enjoy exercising together.”
“The Mark Twain Health Care District has been sponsoring MTMC health fairs for many years,” commented District Board Chair Lin Reed. “Our focus is to support the efforts of the hospital, community members and other organizations to make Calaveras County a healthy and vibrant place in which to live.”
