San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Darren Spellman announced today that Lori Norton has been selected by the Board of Supervisors to become Calaveras County’s next County Administrative Officer. “Lori is a well-experienced individual who the Board feels is a great fit for Calaveras County to lead us into the future” said Spellman...
Norton has over 25 years of experience in the public sector including having served as Deputy County Administrator of Sonoma County, Principal Analyst of Santa Barbara County, Principal Analyst of Ventura Regional Sanitation District, and Purchasing Manager for the City of Thousand Oaks. Norton has held key roles in budget and policy development, community and intergovernmental relations, strategic planning, organizational development and program management and review.
Norton stated “I am looking forward to working with the Board of Supervisors, employees, and residents on the challenging issues facing the County. I am also looking forward to becoming a member of the community and making Calaveras County my home.” Norton is expected to start her position on May 20th at an annual salary of $168,105.
Norton replaces John Blacklock, who has served as Interim County Administrative Officer since January following the retirement of Jeanne Boyce who served in the position for 2 years.
The Board will take further action on May 7th with a Resolution Appointing and Establishing compensation of County Administrative Officer and approving and authorizing Board Chair to sign an Employment Agreement for County Administrative Officer services.
