CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MIXER event happening at the Resource Center on Thursday May 23rd, 5:30-7:00 pm. Live music, 50/50 raffle and refreshments. Mix and mingle with the business people of Mtn. Ranch and surrounding communities.
LUNCH WITH US, the free community lunches happen on the first and third Thursdays of the month, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. right after Food Program distribution. Lunches are served at the Mountain Ranch Resource Center building. The Center is open at 9 a.m. for coffee, socializing, WiFi use, etc. For more information contact the Center at 754-4073. This month’s dates are Thursday May 2 and Thursday May 16th.
NEW ART SHOW: Open House and Artist’s Reception Party for the Center’s own Kristine Lavender Love (Kristine Louise), Friday May 17th, 2013, 2 to 6 pm. Come and take in the transformative “Casbah” effect of Kristine’s powerful and colorful work. Artist talk happens in the early part of the afternoon. Special guests: the Sonora Drum Circle who will provide a community drumming experience for all to join in. Bring your own percussion instruments. Goodies and refreshments on tap, plus an aloe vera plant sale!!
HIKING GROUP: With the warmer weather, the hiking group has started up again, and has gone on several hikes since March. Call Mara at 754-0521 for details on May hikes.
HATHA YOGA: Wednesday morning class is again held on the back patio of the Resource Center on sunny days and indoors during rain, from 9:30-11 a.m. Dress in layers for all conditions. The cost is $5.00, plus a small donation to the Center. Call 754-4073 for more information.
CHANGES AT THE FOOD DISTRIBUTION SITE: The Center will be phasing out the Clothing Closet during the month of May. If you need clothes be sure and check out the offering during the May 2nd food distribution hours of 9-11 am.
GET YOUR SAVEMART SHARES CARD and the Resource Center will receive a quarterly check for 3% of annual purchases. Cards available at the Center, simply slide the card through when checking out, it’s already coded for the Resource Center.
DONATE YOUR SENDER’S CLUB CARD POINTS: Senders Market will now allow patrons to donate their excess Club Card points to the Resource Center, ask your favorite check-out person about it today!!
RECYCLE YOUR PRINTER INK CARTRIDGES: Now you can bring in your used ink cartridges---any kind---to the Resource Center for recycling.
E-WASTE: The E-Waste Collection site is still available for unwanted electronics AND WE’LL ALSO TAKE LARGE APPLIANCES LIKE ELECTRIC WASHERS, DRYERS, FRIDGES and STOVES!!! Anything with a plug may be delivered at the side gate of the Center at any time; however, the form on the clip board on the wall must be filled out.
PROPANE SWITCH: The Resource Center receives thirty-five gallons of free propane from Campora whenever anyone switches from their current provider to them. To find out their rates, call Campora at 736-0449.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE FOR MAY
Monday: Quilting Class 3rd Monday of the month, May 20th from 9:30 am-noon
Tuesday: Kids’ Activities with Vicki every Tuesday, 2:30-4:30 pm
Wednesday: Hatha Yoga with Kristine, 9:30 to 11 am. Cost is $5, plus $2 to the Center Guitar Lessons taught by Doug Quintal, 4:30-5:15 pm, cost $10
Genealogy Group on the last Wed. of the month, May 29th, 2-4 pm
Thursday: Food Commodities Distribution on May 2nd, 9-11 am
Fresh Food Pantry May 16th, 9-11 am
LUNCH WITH US May 2nd and 16th, 11:00 to 12:30 at the Resource Center.
The Center is open at 9 am for coffee.
