San Francisco Giants' VP, Touched Every Base and Scored in Speech at Ironstone.

Murphys, CA..To help kick-off the summer tourism season, the Calaveras Visitors Bureau (CVB) hosted a luncheon featuring guest speaker Rick Mears, VP of Guest Services for the San Francisco Giants. Mears, who is entering his 15th season with the Giants (the 2010 and 2012 World Series Champions), discussed the key elements for providing a great customer service experience. He brought 35 years of experience and a World Series Ring to the speech and gave useful examples...

Including common sense items such as that on game day at ATT Park the person who is taking care of the restrooms in a section is the most important customer service person at that time and can have a real impact on the customer experience.

“Calaveras County already has a reputation for being a friendly destination, but we thought it would be fantastic to bring in a speaker who could share how we can continue to improve people’s visits here, bringing them back time and time again,” said Lisa Boulton, Executive Director of the Calaveras Visitors Bureau. “As we considered speakers who could get local business owners and employees pumped up for the months ahead, our board president, Steve Markle mentioned hearing Rick Mears of the Giants was an excellent customer service speaker. As it happens, Rick was happy to help out, and we’re excited to have him.”
