Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance / Resource Center

Mountain Ranch, CA... Have you stopped by the Resource Center recently? If not, you’re missing an opportunity to enjoy the warm hospitality of staff members Kristine Louise and Donna Vial. They can inform you of the many activities that are available or help you with hi-speed computer access, all while you enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Then take time to check out new arrivals in our small free library. It’s also a great central place to meet friends and then hike the bike path. Regular hours for the Resource Center are Mon.-Fri., 2-6 p.m....

New Art Exhibit: is on display for the months of June and July. “Sheep Ranch Chic, Painting, Sculpture, Photography” features the work of Shay (Sharon) Baker, Maila Kesti and Fredie Cumberland of Sheep Ranch, and Open House and Artists’ Reception Party July 19th, 2-6 pm. Artist talk between 2 and 3; live music around 4 pm. from the Sheep Ranch ‘Music Night’ folks. Food, drink and lots of fun on tap.
Lunch With Us: Free community lunch happens on the first and third Thursdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., right after distribution of the Center’s food program. Lunches are served at the Mountain Ranch Resource Center building. The Center is open at 9 a.m. for coffee, socializing, WiFi use, etc. For more information contact the Center at 754-4073. This month’s dates are Thursday June 6th and Thursday June 20th.
Music In The Park will be at Mtn Ranch Park on Wednesday, June 26th, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.: Featuring the band B-Sides with their the rockin’ 60’s sounds. The Resource Center will be open during the concert. Stop by and see the current art work display.
Hiking Group: With the warmer weather, the hiking group has started up again. Call Mara Naber at 754-0521 for details on June hikes and get on the contact list.
Rent the Resource Center: Interested in renting the Resource Center for a party or community event? Call the front desk at 754-4073 and find out about the affordable rates for the best rentable living room in Mtn. Ranch.
Calling All Artists: Local Artists who are interested in showing visual work at the Center, please contact Kristine Louise to arrange a meeting to discuss terms of exhibiting. Propane Switch: The Resource Center receives thirty-five gallons of free propane from Campora whenever anyone switches from their current provider to them. To find out their rates, call Campora at 736-0449.
E-Waste: The E-Waste Collection site is still available for unwanted electronics. Anything with a plug, including washers, stoves, fridges and dryers may be delivered at the side gate of the Center at any time; however, the form on the clip board on the wall by the gate must be filled out.
Savemart Shares Card: Attention Savemart Shoppers, pick up a specially-coded Shares card at the Resource Center front table, slide it through when making a purchase, and Savemart will write the Center a check for 3% of the cardholder’s annual sales.

Donate your Senders Points to the Resource Center!! Don’t need your club card points from Sender’s? Now you can contribute your points to the Center and for every 100,000 points the Center will receive $10 at the end of the year!!

Food Commodities: first Thursday of the month; next on June 6th, 9-11 a.m.
Food Pantry: third Thurs.; next on June 20th, 9-11 a.m.
Lunch With Us: Thursday, June 6th, and Thursday, June 20th, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Resource Center. Center open at 9 a.m. for coffee and socializing. Call 754-4073 for more info.
Quilting Group: Monday June 17th, 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Hatha Yoga: Every Wednesday, 9:30 to 11 a.m. Cost is $5, plus $2 for the Resource Center, taught by Kristine Louise.
Beginning Guitar Lessons: teacher Doug Quintal, every Wed. 4:30-5:15 p.m. Cost $10.
Genealogy Group: the last Wednesday of the month, 2-4 p.m., this month on June 26th.
The Resource Center is open as a drop-in center for children after school during regular hours of 2-6 p.m., with activities such as litter pick-up and card making on some days. There are many books available for adults and kids in the lending library, and free high speed internet. To find out more or to sign up for classes, call 754-4073. The Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance and Resource Center, at 7869 Whiskey Slide Road, is a non-profit community organization and we depend on your support for our programs.
