Bear Valley Music Festival Opened with Sold Out Shows

Bear Valley, CA...The 2013 Bear Valley Music Festival opened with sold out shows. When "Asleep At The Wheel" rolled into the festival tent there was a waiting list of about 7O. Not only is the Bear Valley Music Festival having a good 2013 run Bear Valley is having a good summer as well. With live music at the Bear Valley Amphitheater by Sky High Pizza and the Bear Valley Lodge has reopened after new carpets and improvements...

Earlier in the summer the Lodge was closed for repairs after a small fire in the laundry area. Over $100k was spent on repairs and upgrades and the Cathedral Lounge now looks better than it has in years.

The new ownership group is still making progress and even in a worst case scenario of the transaction not being completed before winter the current group should be able to carry the resort though another winter.

The most likely outcome is that some of the current ownership group will remain with some new blood and owners to carry the project to the next level. Now that most of the entitlements and environmental impact reports are in-place the future of Bear Valley looks quite good especially if the economy and real estate market continues to heal.

Most of the locals are taking a relaxed long view of the process and trying not to get to up or down as the process slowly moves forward. Operationally the resort looks in good shape for the upcoming season and improvements and repairs have continued unabated over the summer at the resort as well as the lodge.

The Bear Valley Music Festival still has one week left to run through the 11th and then the Bear Valley Parents Group labor day weekend Soap Box Derby and Festival will round out the summer before the focus shifts to thinking about snow....
