Community Partners Building Opportunity – was the theme behind The Arc of Amador and Calaveras grant funding request from Amador Community Foundation. The partnership developed relationships between high school students and people with disabilities while focusing on building a lasting joint effort to bring awareness to support both 1) advocacy for our local schools and students, 2) bridging the gap of diversity and community services while developing our next generation in Amador County.
“I am personally and professionally proud to be a part of such a great partnership to provide a storage shed for the woodworking classes at The Arc of Amador and Calaveras. What an impressive operation, I had the opportunity to tour the Amador Campus facility while seeing with more clarity what the services they offer are! It is a privilege to have a small part in helping The Arc in its mission to provide support and services to those with developmental disabilities so they can better live, work, learn and recreate in the mainstream of life.” Said Kathleen Harmon, Executive Director with Amador Community Foundation.
The Arc of Amador and Calaveras is a non-profit organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities in both Amador and Calaveras counties. Currently The Arc serves over 200 people across the two counties to achieve their goals of Independent Living, Employment, Life Skills, Recreation Services and much, much more. “I would like to invite anyone interested in learning more about our programs to tour the facility and see firsthand our world-class team that makes our mission come to life daily. It is community partnerships, working together, and stretching the dollar that will really impact our rural communities in the most positive ways” Said Shawnna Molina, Executive Director of The Arc of Amador and Calaveras.
