Studio 4 Dance Enjoying Their Beautiful New Studio
Vallecito, CA...On September 8th the Studio 4 School of Dance held the grand opening of their new studio behind Family 4 Fitness on Hwy 4. The expansive new studio is dedicated to dance and provides a beautiful location as they get ready for their production of The Nutcracker again this year...
The Studio is the home of Studio 4 Dance and Studio 4 Dance Theater.
Studio 4 Dance Theater is a non-profit theatrical dance company based in Calaveras County and located at the Family 4 Fitness Center in Vallecito, California. Founded in 2008 by Tammie Lee, the company presents a full-scale original production each year of "The Nutcracker", and appears locally at various events. Studio 4 Dance Theater is the resident dance company of Studio 4 School of Dance.
Our goal is to train and educate students in the disciplined art of dance and to educate and develop the future audience for dance throughout Calaveras County.
Studio 4 Dance Theater performs at different functions throughout Calaveras county during the year. "The Nutcracker" made its world premier December 18, 1892 at the Maryinsky Theater in St Petersbury, Russia with choreography by Petipa/Ivanov, music by Tchaikovsky and decor by Botcharov. "The Nutcracker" has been awing audiences young and old for over a hundred years. Studio 4 Dance Theater performs this classic ballet each year during the holiday season at the Bret Harte Theater in Angles Camp.
We have expanded our performances to twice a year. New choreographed works will be created and performed in the Spring.
Studio 4 Dance Theater provides the opportunity for all ages to perform. All children that dance with the company are required to take at least one class at Studio 4 School of Dance.
Studio 4 School of Dance offers classes to children from ages 2 to adult. Our mission is to train a life long dancer, although individual goals range from social skills, health maintenance and improvement of self esteem.
Ballet is the foundation of all dance technique. The discipline and determination that comes from this training will benefit students in any career that they choose.
Ballet is the foundation of our program at Studio 4 School of Dance. We train primarily in the Cecchetti method with some emphasis in RAD (Royal Academy of Dance-London).
While Studio 4 School of Dance is considered to be the best school in our area for ballet training, we offer classes in many other forms of dance: Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, Pointe and variety of children’s classes.
