Travis Lee Cassel 6-6-1938 - 10-5-2013

Valley Springs, CA.....Travis Lee Cassel passed away in his home in Valley Springs on Oct. 5th 2013. He was 75 years old. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 6th, 1938. To his parents Iona May Puckett Cassel and Wilbur Lee Cassel. A high school graduate, he had some college education and too many specialized training certificates to mention here. He was an Air Force veteran of the Cold War and served as a flight engineer....



He is survived by his wife of 58 years Sherri Jean Cassel who was at his side when he passed. Travis was a Master Mechanic for heavy duty equipment and employed by Cal Trans for many years where he received various certificates and accolades.

He was very active as the Football Commissioner for 38 years for Motherlode Delta Youth and served as Head Referee. His hobbies included sports, fly fishing, model airplanes, and he was an Aviation and Locomotive buff.

Travis is survived by his wife Sherri Jean Cassel, his children Cory Lee Cassel, Troy Scott Cassel, Marty Wayne Cassel, Bret Travis Cassel and Kimberly Michelle Cassel. He has 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister Charlotte. Travis was always there to lend a hand to those who needed him, had a great sense of humor and was a devoted family man. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a private Memorial held for his family members.
