The California State Horseman’s Association Has Chosen Their Representative for 2014

Hathaway Pines, CA...47 days after receiving her California State Horsemen’s Association (CSHA) Region 4 Royalty crown McKensey Middleton traded it in for the CSHA State Royalty Crown. On Sunday August 25, 2013 fifteen year old McKensey Middleton of Hathaway Pines brought home top Honors in the CSHA Region 4 Royalty Contests. Region 4 is one of 18 regions in the state that makes up the California State Horsemen Association. The Region 4 area includes Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, & Tuolumne Counties. The winners of the CSHA Regional events qualify for the State Level Competition called the CSHA Show of Champions at the Santa Cruz County Fair Grounds...

The CSHA Show of Champions began on October 08, 2013 and concluded on October 13, 2013. The CSHA Royalty Competition at the Show of Champions is broken up into three divisions, Little Miss CSHA (10 years and younger), Junior Miss CSHA (11 – 14 years), and Miss CSHA (15 – 18 years of age). The Show of Champions only consists of the winners in Royalty from each of the 18 Regions in CSHA. Like the CSHA Regional competitions, the CSHA Show of Champions Royalty competition consists of four categories, 1) a 200 question Written test about Horses, Equitation, and the CSHA, 2) a riding pattern and queen lap, 3) an interview in front of a panel of Judges, and 4) a speech in front of a live audience. The winners of speech at the CSHA Show of Champions competition on Friday night were required to give their speeches a second time in front of a larger crowd at the CSHA awards ceremony and coronation on Saturday night.

The Miss CSHA Show of Champion Results went; McKensey Middleton won the Written Test, Ariel Spotsword of Aptos (Region 6) won the riding competition, Cody Foster of Anderson (Region 18) won the Interview, and McKensey Middleton won Speech.

For the next year McKensey will enjoy traveling the State of California representing the California State Horseman Association at Holiday Parades, Horse Expo’s, Rodeo Parades, Rodeo’s, County Fairs, and a number of other CSHA registered events.

Sara Parker of Burson competed and ended up winning the First Princess Title for the Junior Miss portion of the CSHA Show of Champions. Sara won the interview portion of the Jr Miss CSHA competition at the Show of Champions. Morgan Middleton of Hathaway Pines also competed and received the Second Princess Title for the Little Miss CSHA Show of Champions. Morgan won Speech in the Little Miss CSHA Show of Champions competition.
