Studio 4 Dance Theater treats audiences to a new show every year while staying true to the magical tale of Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, and their Christmastime adventures in the Land of Sweets. The 2013 extravaganza features 55 dancers, new characters and costumes, and fresh choreography. Artistic Director Tammie Lee has built a strong corps of classically trained dancers, ages 3-50, whose grace and technical skills wow audiences and bring them back year after year. The production is swiftly paced at two hours, which includes intermission with holiday refreshments, offering a fun and festive treat for audiences of all ages.
“The Nutcracker” stars Molly Johnson as Clara and Ethan Moes as her Nutcracker Prince. Audience favorite Brook Moes returns as the mysterious Drosselmeyer. The production also features Katelyn Smith as the Dew Drop Fairy, Alexandra Linton as the Mouse Queen, Brianna Gilbert as the Ice Queen and Alyssa Walker as the Snow Queen, Lars Johnson as the Cavalier and King of Ice & Snow, and Rebecca Elliott as the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. There will be a “meet and greet” for photos and autographs with the Sugar Plum Fairy after the matinee performance on Saturday, December 21.
Many local businesses and families have stepped up to sponsor this year’s event. Major sponsors of the 2013 production are Lunch Lady Catering, Ruby Parlor No. 46 Native Daughters of the Golden West, Sonora Regional Medical Center Pharmacy Services, the Buteau Family, Calaveras Construction Company, the Linton Family, Mark Twain Medical Center, Timothy J.
