Dignity Health Partners with Kids for Peace to Achieve Peace Through Humankindness

Carlsbad, CA...Can kindness really change the world? In the spirit of World Kindness Day on November13, 2013, Kids for Peace is thrilled to announce a partnership with Dignity Health, one of the five largest health systems in the nation, to promote and support The Great Kindness Challenge in schools in California, Nevada and Arizona. Dignity Health and Kids for Peace believe that human kindness fosters healthier, happier lives and a more peaceful society. Both organizations realize that even a single act of kindness can change the world for the better.

The Great Kindness Challenge School Edition is a powerful, positive anti-bullying initiative dedicated to creating a culture of kindness in elementary and high schools nationwide. During the last week of January each year, students are provided with a checklist of 50 kind deeds to achieve and are empowered to create positive change, as well as a toolkit to support their efforts.

At Dignity Health, we believe that kindness holds the power to help people lead happier, healthier lives,” said Robert L. Wiebe, M.D., chief medical officer for Dignity Health. “We are thrilled to support Kids for Peace and the Great Kindness Challenge to promote stronger human connection and kindness within more schools and communities.”

Now in its third year, the Great Kindness Challenge has grown from three schools to participation by students in more than five hundred schools all over the world.

We invite all schools to honor the World Kindness Day by registering for The Great Kindness Challenge School Edition,” Jill McManigal of Kids for Peace. “It's free, easy for the schools to implement, and has a proven positive impact.”

With the support of Dignity Health, Kids for Peace will be able to support more schools and cultivate human kindness at a younger age.
