Christmas in Angel Camp Kicks Off This Weekend

Angels Camp, CA....Angels Camp Businesses and Residents --Get in the Christmas Spirit early and help decorate our town for Christmas. Here are some opportunities for you, your staff and your family and friends. Saturday, Nov. 23 -- 9 am to about noon. PINE BOUGH COLLECTING GROUP Join a group heading up to the mountains to cut pine boughs and pick up giant pine cones for our pine bough-making party. Meet at Starbucks by 9 am. Bring loppers and gloves. You can drive up or join another group. ACBA has permission again this year to cut in a part of the forest. And our volunteers can bring back some boughs and cones for their own decorations if they want. The group will stop for pizza on the way back, but you can head back to Angels. If you plan to join, please let the chairman, Charlotte Turnbow, by calling ACBA on 736 1333...

Monday, Nov. 25 -- 5:30 pm until we're done. PINE BOUGH ASSEMBLY PARTY at Wayne & Son, 329 N. Main. ACBA has been making fresh pine boughs to decorate Angels Camp for over 15 years. We need lots of helpers to assemble the pine boughs and attach the red ribbons and pine cones, plus other helpers to go out on the trucks to hang the boughs all over town.

Just show up. Dress warmly. Bring work gloves and wire cutters (with your name on them) and an appetizer to share. ACBA supplies the liquid refreshments. This is a fun evening of getting to know your neighbors and helping with a special Angels Camp project.

Don't forget the Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 30 at 4 pm along Main Street from St Patrick's Church to Angels Creek. Immediately following the parade, Santa Claus will on the porch of the Visitors Center and there will be candle-lit caroling starting from Vintage up to the Christmas tree at the Visitors Center. PLUS, a special Christmas Open House downtown from 4 to 8 pm. Here's a chance to find special gifts for those on your shopping list while 'shopping local'. Local wineries will be doing tastings and shops will have refreshments and special deals for shoppers. The make the evening complete with dinner in our downtown restaurants and a movie at Angels Theater.

And, the ANNUAL HOME TOWN CHRISTMAS GALA is Monday, December 2nd, at 6 pm at CAMPS. Delicious buffet dinner, music, silent and live auction. Tickets are $50 each and available at ACBA, Camps, Turner's Wild West and Middleton's.

For more information, call ACBA at 736 1333.
