Giving Thanks & Celebrating with Friends and Family Along The Byway

Arnold, CA...The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association would like to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. During all your travels this season remember to cross the road safely!

Is the Pass Open or Closed?

Know Before You Go

This time of year the weather can change quickly and our Ebbetts Pass could close at any moment. This Caltrans QuickMap can help you monitor the roads before you leave and as you are on the way up.

Access real-time traffic information, monitor traffic congestion and incidents, lane closures and chain controls along our Hwy 4 corridor. One great feature is being able to read what the changeable message sign in Murphys says!

Try the mobile version, making sure you're viewing http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/mindex.html on your

Internet-enabled smartphone.

Be prepared for winter driving and always carry chains. We want everyone to arrive safe and sound.

New Visitor Center at BT State Park

The Calaveras Big Trees Association is pleased to announce that the doors of the long awaited Visitor Center are now open. They would love for you to come and see their beautiful new home. Open daily 10 am until 4 pm. The official Grand Opening will be held next May in conjunction with the 150th Anniversary of California State Parks. Just another reason to drive the Scenic Byway to Calaveras Big Trees State Park.
