Join the Calaveras Arts Council
for a Holiday Open House and Reception
The Calaveras Arts Council office and gallery is filled with unique art gifts in their historic downtown building on Main Street in San Andreas. Why drive out of country when you can stay local and support Calaveras Artists. Enjoy a relaxed, shopping experience with beverages, snacks, and friendly folks ready to help. Choose from affordable original art, prints, cards, purses, scarves, jewelry, ceramics, garden art, music, books, pottery, and much more.
The Calaveras Arts Council is once again hosting the Holiday Affordable Gifts of Arts Boutique in the gallery located at 22 N. Main Street in San Andreas. Over 50 artists will have a variety of items available for sale which began on Saturday, November 9 and runs through Saturday, January 4, 2014. A second open house is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, noon - 3:00pm with classical guitarist Gordon Rowland performing. This is a free performance for shoppers to enjoy
Gallery Calaveras, at 22 Main Street in San Andreas, is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The gallery accepts cash, checks and credit cards for payment. Voting for the officer positions will take place at the next Chamber Board meeting. All members of the Board present will be asked to vote.
There currently are two At Large positions open on the Chamber of Commerce Board. General Membership of the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce is asked to vote on the two open positions on the Chamber Board.
The Chamber Board made two nominations for the two positions. Please circle the names to approve the nominations and return your ballots to the Chamber Office. Or write-in nominations of your own on the blank lines and return your ballots to the Chamber Office. Mailing address is PO Box 1075, San Andreas, CA 95249. Nominees must be current members of the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce.

- December 6th
- Mountain Ranch Christmas Tree Lighting. Sing carols as the tree is being lit then walk down the road to the Town Hall for monthly potluck where the "Mountain Melodies" - a local women's chorus - will perform. All are invited. Begins at 5:30 in downtown Mountain Ranch near Senders Market. For more information call 209.754.4603 or 209.754.3232.
December 7th
- Valley Springs Christmas Parade. Rain or Shine - Parade begins 10am. Parade route California & Chestnut. Santa will make a special trip from the North Pole! The Parade will proceed down Daphne; turn right at the Veterans Hall and then right at Sequoia. Call 209.598.1467 for more info.
- December 12
- Wines of the World at the Murphys Historic Hotel. Bubbles with Steve. A popular event that is growing each year! Steve Collum, of Vineyard Concepts, will take us on a tour the Champagne region of France. Corks will be popping on imported bottles from all over the country. The Historic Murphys Hotel hosts this event in the Mark Twain Ballroom. Cost for CWA members is $45 and $50 for non members. Please RSVP at 209-728-9467 to pay over the phone. Reservations are required, and seating is extremely limited, no tickets will be sold at the door. Deadline is December 5th.
- December 14
- Visit Santa at Barrel of Monkeez. Sleigh arrives at 4:30pm and leaves at 7pm. Photos with Santa $5 per photo. Call for more information and hours of operation for the day. Entry into Barrel of Monkeez: Children $12 4 and up, $6 1-3, $6 adult, 2nd adult $3. Located on the grounds at Frogtown.
