Breaking News!! Featured Athlete Attending Movie Premier- Tonight!

Angels Camp- Update....Sierra Quitiquit, neice of local luminary Tina Quitiquit is attending the Central Sierra Premier of the Warren Miller ski movie, Ticket to Ride in Angels Camp. The Angels Murphys Arnold Boosters Club Snowsports program presents Warren Miller's Ticket to Ride- the screening of a ski movie that supports local kids’ participation in winter sports teams and school snow experience programs. Warren Miller Athlete Sierra Quitiquit to attend movie premier and sign autographs. Get ready to celebrate winter with Warren Miller’s Ticket to Ride. The newest chapter in the legendary film series, Ticket to Ride will take filmgoers on an action-packed journey with the world’s best skiers and snowboarders. This year’s movie features Sierra Quitiquit, the neice of local luminarie Tina Quitiquit who grew up skiing at Bear Valley...

Sierra is featured along with Team USA’s Julia Mancuso, shredding Iceland’s Troll Peninsula wearing but a small bikini- but don’t let the skimpy clothes fool you, this girl is a skier first and foremost and she steals the scenes even when wrapped in a parka with her outrageous lines and athletecism. Unfortunately, you will not likely see her at the local mountain anytime soon as she has become an international model and athlete. She's appeared in "America's Next Top Model," "Portlandia" and countless ads for companies like Nike, Athleta, Lululemon and American Eagle. She now calls Park City, Utah, her home base.

“You know it’s time to start waxing the boards when the Warren Miller movie plays,” said Warren Alford, of the AMA Snowsports program which hosts the annual event. “It’s fun and supports local athletes as well as helping keep our school ski programs going.”

One of the highlights of this year’s film for folks that remember the epic 80’s flicks, like Blizzard of Ahhs, P-tex, Lies and Duct Tape and other classics is the return of legendary ripper, Scot Schmidt. Schmidt, who epitomized style in those movies sporting Vaurnet glasses, feathered hair and his signature crossed 210 meter downhill boards is back- more mature but still ripping albeit on some new fangled fatties.

Producing the annual feature film is always an exciting experience, but the uncertainty of future winters creates concern for ski filmmaking. “This year, Warren Miller has offset the emissions impact from filming Ticket to Ride which is a small step toward creating a sustainable business for the future,” said Max Bervy, Managing Director. “As a stakeholder in winter, Warren Miller Entertainment is committed to using our voice in the winter sports community to help preserve our winters. Continuing our 64-year legacy, we look to make films that excite and inspire skiers and riders worldwide, and we must work with and impassion our audience to pass down the tradition and make positive changes for generations to come.”

Warren Miller shows are an experience—a pre-season party not to be missed. Film attendees have a chance to win ski vacations, heli-trips, prizes and gear, plus meet the athletes and get access to exclusive resort and retail savings from Warren Miller partners.

One show only will play in the region this year at the Bret Harte High School Performing Arts Center on December 7, so tickets are expected to sell out fast.

“100% of the funds we raise support youth participation in winter sports activities,” said Alford. “These programs are the only opportunity some of these kids will have to experience downhill and Nordic skiing even though the mountain is literally in their back yards”
