VUSD Board Back in Action Today Starting at 4pm.

Avery, CA...The Vallecito Union School District board will be back in session this afternoon. The meeting will start at 4:00 PM with an open public session and then convene to closed session. At 5:30 PM the open session of the meeting will start. The meeting will be held at the VUSD district office in Avery. The agenda is enclosed...

Any writings or documents that are public records and are provided to a majority of the governing board regarding an open session item on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the District Office located at 4545B Moran Road during normal business hours.

ANNUAL ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING / ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Education Code Section 35143, the Board of Trustees must hold an annual organizational meeting. The Board will take the following action:
1. Elect a President and a Clerk from its members. The Superintendent will conduct the election for the President, and following the election of the President, will turn the gavel over to the incoming President who will conduct the remainder of the organizational meeting and assume all other responsibilities of the office for the year.
2. Appoint a Secretary to the Board. (Superintendent)
3. Authorize signatures for Board related matters. (Superintendent, Business Manager, Manager of Ops)
4. Develop a schedule of regular meetings for the year
5. Develop a Board Attention Calendar for the year
6. Designate Board Committee Representatives
VII. COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE
Up to fifteen minutes of this portion of the meeting are reserved for members of the public to address the Board on items not listed on the agenda and within the jurisdiction of the School Board. Speakers are limited to 3 minutes. The School Board is prohibited by law from taking action on matters discussed that are not on the Agenda, and no adverse conclusions should be drawn if the School Board does not respond to public comment at this time.
