Local Woman Donates Body Armor for Local K9 Unit

Angels Camp, CA...At the start of the Angels Camp City Council meeting the City and Angels Camp Police Department honored Janine Fout in appreciation for her generous donation to the K-9 unit. She donated over $3,000 which was paid directly to the manufacture for custom fitted body armor for the K9's. The armor will protect the animals from bullet and puncture wounds. Todd Fordahl, Police Chief and Steve Poortinga, Sergeant and their service dogs in their new protective vests are below...

The Angels Camp Police K9 unit currently serves the entire county for Drug, Tracking and Trailing and other incidents where the services of the animals can be of assistence

This indeed is wonderful - small donations do add up. Where can we send donations that can be put towards another vest?

It is our daughter who donated these vests for those dogs & we couldn't be more proud of her.

I bet the schools could use $3000 better, instead of sweaters for two dogs.

These are not sweaters. These are bullet proof vests for highly trained protectors of the law. Thank you so much for the wonderful donation. This is the best piece of good news in our county for a long time.

Those are NOT sweaters they are vests that protect the K9 officers from bullets & sharp objects like knives. The same kind of vests that our military troops wear. If you're so interested in donating to the schools you do that.

We all have ideas of where money could best be spent, but why be critical of someone else's choice? Thank you for being so giving of your resources, Ms. Fout!

Very generous and a necessity to protect these canine "officers", as they often are key in a chase.
Thank you for sharing

I believe more money in the school system would lower crime better than a militarized police force.

Next it will be armored tanks to protect us from law breakers.

ps. I feel i shouldn't have to point out that i do know they are not sweaters.

More money to the schools would just mean more wasted tax payers money.

Sweater man needs to homeschool his future kids.

Mo' money to the schools means more communist indoctrination.

It's a freaking dog and our authoritarian dictators say that our Gestapo dogs " serving and protecting the *bleep* out of you" have more rights than the slave. Where's my govt issued bullet-proof vest? Better yet, how come some benevolent tax payer is buying me a set of body armor to protect me as I do my duty as a tax payer by working and dealing with more people in a day as that dog does in a month. Come on sheeple! I'm waiting for the article about the douchebag that buys Angels PD a bomb proof vehicle to better serve and protect us.

ITM mofo's!
