Secretary of State Candidate Wants to Know: Are the Koch Brothers Talking to Chuck?

Los Angeles, CA...Derek Cressman asked Charles and David Koch today to disclose whether Charles Schwab was attending their secret political fundraising meeting in Indian Wells, California. Schwab was among the largest donors contributing to a dark money group that illegally funnelled $14 million into California elections in 2012 with the help of the Koch brothers’ political network....

“California investors have a right to know if Charles Schwab is using his profits from their investments to support a radical right wing ideology,” said Cressman. “And California voters have a right to know who is funding campaigns to influence our votes,” he added.

While working as a Vice President at Common Cause, Mr. Cressman initiated a successful complaint at the California Fair Political Practices Commission that resulted in the largest fine in California campaign finance history being levied against two organizations that are tied to the Koch network. Documents released after the investigation indicated that Charles Schwab had contributed at least $6.4 million toward the effort to influence two ballot initiative outcomes.

The FPPC also released an e-mail that appeared to come from Charles Schwab to David Koch which said “I have committed an additional $2 million today making my total commitment of $7 million. It would be great if you could support the effort with several million dollars.” The e-mail ended “I look forward to seeing you on a golf course—probably after the election.”

Derek Cressman is available in the Los Angeles area for in-person interviews January 25-27.

A copy of the e-mail to David Koch is posted here https://twitter.com/DerekCressman/status/393479338076549121/photo/1
Details of Cressman’s complaint at the FPPC are here http://www.salon.com/2013/10/30/one_guy_stood_up_to_the_koch_brothers_and_won_partner/

Cressman will win because California is progressive and we hope he runs these crooks to the ground, Include the Mormons among them.

I am just curious if anyone has investigated how much George Soros has contributed to extreme left wing political organizations.

So trying to label Charles Schwab as some far right extremist is the way to win a California election? Does this candidate think we are really that dumb and gullible?

This wonderful candidate for Secretary of State was in Calaveras County in September and I had the pleasure of meeting him. He will make a great Secretary of State and I encourage all rational thinkers to check him out, then VOTE for him! You won't be sorry.

Now all you haters, it's time for your vitriol to come out. Go for it, and continue to prove your ignorance and lack of knowledge.

Trying to demonize Schwab is being a "thinker"? (Eye Roll) people are not that gullible. How about saying what you are for and how you will help. Nope? Much easier just make all those "business people" evil

Their opinion is welcome. The problems is that the Koch brothers sneak around buying politicians by the dozens and we should know who they are.

Oh man, jus mention the Koch Bros and watch the libtards salivate. Mention them in your campaign and they'll line up to vote for you. These men have no where near the influence of George Soros or Warren Buffet, but yet they are demonized by the lame-stream media and liberal(progressive/communist) organizations.

The Koch bros started the Tea Party, and fund many threats against Republicans who won't toe their line, which is more tax breaks for those who don't need them, and and getting rid of regulations of any kind, so we can have another financial melt down, and have a steep rise in pollution cancer deaths.

The Kochs and their pals contribute much more to pols than Buffet or Soros.

It's called dark money in case you care to know the facts.....oh you don't use facts.

Facts, yes do show evidence the statement I made is incorrect.

A search of Dark Money will show the Kochs are the champion of Dark Money.

The Koch Brothers tried to talk to Chuck, but couldn't get through because George had the line tied up before they could get through!

Chuck or Soros aside - the Koch Brothers are enemies of the state and will do anything for obscene profit at the expense of the American worker and the American dream.Do a little research on Alec.
