Murphys, CA...It Pays to Shop (and Taste) Local - The Ironstone Heritage Museum, Marisolio Tasting Bar and Creative Cookware each offer discounts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays while, on Wednesdays, Tea an' Tiques offers Calaveras residents & seniors a discount on the purchase of any box or tin of TEA.. Twisted Oak offers complimentary wine tastings on Tuesdays. Restrictions apply but make sure to let them know you're a local when you're out supporting our local businesses...





Wine Down Friday @ Stevenot - Each first Friday of each month from 5-8 pm Stevenot hosts "Wine Down Friday" in the Tasting Room on Main St. Murphys. This is an opportunity to meet the owners and staff while enjoying Stevenot Wines by the glass, party platters, and live music. Call 209-728-3485 for more information.

February at Art on Main - Stop by to admire the work of our new artists, Dick Bradford and Marlene Bradford (local wood turner and clay artist). We also welcome new artists Steve and Therese May who create beautiful, wearable fiber art.

February Artist Showing at Hovey Tasting Room - The watercolor paintings of Deborah Marlene will be showcased the month of February at Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. An artist’s reception in her honor will be held Sunday, Feb. 2 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with complimentary appetizers and wine available by the glass for $5.The tasting room is open daily from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays in January -

Tuesdays in Murphys - Winemakers Night at Alchemy - every Tuesday night from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Enjoy a featured wine and a great meal. As always, there is live music on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. Call 209.728.0700 for reservations.

Fridays & Saturdays in Murphys - Local Food & Wine Tours - Join

Murphys Food and Wine Tours every Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 2:30 pm. Each tour is approximately three and a half hours. You’ll get the inside story about the area’s rough-and-tumble past. January 29, 2014 - Discover Calaveras at Gold Country Roasters - Join the Calaveras Visitors Center at 5:30 for complimentary coffee and nibbles and a chance to meet Lisa Schwartz, the owner, and catch up with other business owners. February 2, 2014 - 7th Annual Chili Cook-Off at the Murphys Historic Hotel on Superbowl Sunday - Entry fee of $10 or 10 cans of food. Tasting fee of $5 or 5 cans of food. Contestant meeting at 9:45 am; contestants must bring 3 gallons of chili. Judges award and prizes. Public tasting is from 2-4 pm. February 8, 2014 - An Evening of Chocolate Decadence at the Hovey Winery Tasting Room with the Chocolate Lady from 7 - 9 pm - $35, wine club members only since space is limited.

February 8-9, 2014 - Zin Flights & Chocolate Bites in the Newsome-Harlow Tasting Lounge from 1-4 pm. All 5 of our Zinfandels paired with chocolates from Her Coconess Confection, 2013 Good Food Award winner for her Vanilla Bean Salted Caramels. No rsvp required and, no cost for Party Members, $5 fee for non-members.

February 8, 2014 - Third Annual Heavenly Chocolate Festival - Unlimited tastings of homemade chocolate treats will be available on Saturday at the First Congregational Church in Murphys.
