Hospice of Amador & Calaveras Receives $2,500 Grant for Seniors in Calaveras County
Jackson, CA...Hospice of Amador & Calaveras recently received a $2,500 grant from the Federlein Family Fund of the San Francisco Foundation through the Calaveras Community Foundation. Provided ambulance services to patients who could not afford those services themselves assuring safe travels for patients going to or coming from the hospital.
Provided propane to families who were unable to pay the bills. Keeping the patient and the caregivers warm during the winter months.
Provided Lifeline support to provide additional security for patients who were at risk. The feeling of security this measure brings to patients is profound.
Provided additional medications that were outside of our normal per diem reimbursement. Not all medications are covered by Medicare.
Provided supplemental nutrition to patients unable to eat regular food.
Helped pay phone bills for patients to help them stay connected to loved ones.
Provided hospice care for uninsured senior patients in Calaveras County
Sponsor and again participate in both of The Motherlode Office of Catholic Charities’ 7th Annual Elder Awareness Conference and Free Senior Luncheons in Calaveras County, which estimates the events will again attract more than 500 older adults.
Hospice of Amador & Calaveras is the only community based, non-profit Hospice providing care to patients and families in Amador and Calaveras Counties for over 30 years. Hospice’s mission is to provide high-quality, hospice and bereavement support to everyone who needs it regardless of their ability to pay.
