Bear Valley Cross Country Says "Thank You Mother Nature!"
Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Cross Country was blessed by Mother Nature this week when we received a whopping four feet of new snow! The snow level was predicted to be above 7,500 feet, but luckily the snow level stayed below Bear Valley. We could not have asked for more perfect snow conditions for the upcoming Presidents' Holiday Weekend and Ski Week. Aspen Forest, Bjornloppet, Quick Connect, Osborne Ridge, Ridgerunner, Stanislaus Lookout, as well as all of the meadows trails, and the tubing and sledding areas are all open and groomed. By Friday afternoon, we plan to have Equipe groomed too. Come up to Bear Valley and enjoy the best conditions of the season!
The Thursday Adult Class has been modified this year due to the late start to the season. Each Thursday from February 13th through March 20th, a Ski Improvement Clinic will be offered at 10:30am. Topics will vary and the price is $20 per person ($15 for season pass holders). In addition, clinic participants can receive a 2 for 1 price on rentals and trail passes, so bring a friend along! Sign up and pay at the Cross Country Center.
8th Annual JazzTrax Snowshoe Stomp

The JazzTrax Snowshoe Stomp is a fun snowshoe event for all ages! Ages 9 & under can participate in the 1 Mile Run/Walk ($5 not incuding a t-shirt or $10 with a t-shirt), Juniors ages 10 & up participate in the 5 km Junior Race ($20 including a t-shirt) and Adults participate in the 10 km race ($30 incuding a t-shirt). Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on race day and the races begin at 10 a.m.
41st Annual Bjornloppet Ski Race & Festival and California Senior Winter Games
March 8th & 9th, 2014
Bear Valley Cross Country will host the 41st Annual Bjornloppet XC Ski Race and Festival on March 8th and March 9th, 2014. It is coming up fast so come on up and get your training in! This is one of the longest running ski races in the west and it is open to all age. In addition, the California Senior Winter Games will be held that same weekend. Bjornloppet athletes age 50 and up can participate in the Bjornloppet races and use their race time results for both the Bjornloppet and for the California Senior Winter Games gold, silver and bronze medals.
