The 6th Annual FoCuS Seed Sharing Day Is February 22
Columbia, CA...Join us for the 6th Annual FoCuS Seed Sharing Day and have fun, learn a lot, and come away with the seeds of healthy food in the future. Non-GMO, open pollinated seeds available for your selection from local farmers and reputable seed sources. The public is invited to bring non-GMO seeds to share. This is a special opportunity to get unique, heirloom and Non-GMO seeds donated by local organic growers and reputable seed sources at a great price. In addition to seeds, there will be several speakers focusing on topics related to growing food...

10:40 -11:15am Starting Your New Seeds Lisa Page – Tuolumne County Master Gardener Lisa will share her successful methods for seed starting.
11:25am -noon The Human Cost of Pesticide Exposure Dr. Jakob Jaggy, holistic practitioner, and founding member of FoCuS Dr. Jaggy will discuss the accumulation of toxic substances, and how to detoxify the body.
12:10 -12:45pm The Importance of Seeds Eric Taylor, owner of Outer Aisle Foods, and founding member of FoCuS Eric discusses the importance of putting the “agri” back into culture by being responsible for the planting of seeds.
12:55 -1:30pm Composting, Worms, and Tea Time For Your Garden Adina Nance, owner of Gro Green Organics; LeeAnn Fox, Worms of Wisdom composting advocate Learn how to organically feed your soil by composting your garbage and topping it off with a little compost tea. It’s easier than you might think!
1:40 -2:15pm Creating Healthy and Sustainable Systems in Schools Kevin and Autumn Hesser (CUSD teachers), and Odile Morrison, all Co-founders of Gardens To Grow In Learn how school gardens are being used throughout the Mother Lode to enhance environmental education, promote local food systems and teach kids about healthy food and where it comes from.
