Angels Camp, CA....Meet Art and Karen Kaua of Aloha Boarding. What do you get when you combine a Hawaiian who, as a boy, had 27 poi dogs ("not one purebred") and a small-town girl who read story books to her pony? Art and Karen Kaua, the creators of Aloha Boarding and Training! In 1993, an idea evolved from Art's experience as a ranch foreman, Karen's decade of dog grooming, and our parents' dog show experience with a Lakeland Terrier Champion, Mr. Duffy of Murphys....

While involved in the dog show circuit, we noted the importance of contact and stimulation for the animals. As a result, Duffy was handled and exercised daily on the circuit just as he was when at home. This gave us the idea that each boarded dog should be leash-walked and given personal attention at least twice per day.
In that spirit, our kennel was founded on the idea of attention to the well-being of your pet while constantly enhancing the boarding experience of our clients and their pets. Services, such as

Since we have the privilege of being located near Murphys in the beautiful Sierra foothills, we are able to offer outdoor activities where dogs can be dogs, have regular exercise and have play time in the natural environment.
As we begin our 20th year of operation, we would like to think everyone who has helped us become what we are today. We did not get here along. Our family, friends and clients have taught and guided us in the past and we hope into an ever evolving service where people will feel confident that their pets are safe and treated like "Ohana", family.

$1.00 Off for pets who share a run.
5% discount - 14 days or longer.
10% discount - 30 days or longer.
Vaccinations are Required.
Dogs must be on leash.
Cats must be securely contained.
All pets are indoors at night.
Indoor runs are heated & cooled.
Dogs are leash walked twice daily.
Outdoor runs have Shade-a-pup and Coolmist.
Pets are fed a complete and balanced diet.
We will administer owner provided diets/medications.
You are welcome to bring bedding, toys, treats, food.

Cats: $10.00
$1.00 Off for pets who share a run.

Charges begin the day your pet is left in our care
Day boarding is available Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday drop off 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and pick up 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Are you going shopping for the day or having your kitchen remodeled?
We can watch your dog for the day while you are busy.
Drop your dog off for day boarding, times listed above.
You can add playtime services or a training session.
