Master Gardeners March Open Garden and Plant Sale
San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County Master Gardeners will conduct their Open Garden Day and Plant Sale on Saturday, March 22nd. This is the first Plant Sale for 2014 and sales will be conducted from 10AM until noon. Located at the County Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, the garden will open to the public at 10 am and close at 2pm. This Saturday March 22nd, we will concentrate on how to save seeds from the vegetables you grow. This can help you save money and promote self-sufficiency. With time you can cultivate a variety that is best suited to your micro climate by saving and reseeding. Other money saving tips will be discussed....
Master Gardeners will answer home gardening questions as well as assist in identifying and diagnosing plant and pest problems. They can also provide key tips on how to navigate the vast resources available to you from the University of California. When the garden is not open, home gardening assistance is offered by Master Gardeners through the help line at: 209-754-2880. The public may leave a message regarding the problem and a Master Gardener will return the call.
The Demonstration Garden is a project of the Calaveras County Master Gardeners whose primary goal is to educate the public about home gardening. Proceeds from plant sales support the Master Gardener’s education programs and maintenance of the Demonstration Garden.
