Mountain Ranch Has Even More Talent
Mountain Ranch, CA ...The Third Annual Mountain Ranch Talent Show will be held at the Mountain Ranch Community Hall on Saturday, March 29th. Doors open at 6 pm, and the show starts at 6:30. This event is a fundraiser put on by the Mountain Ranch Scholarship Fund Committee to raise money for scholarships to be awarded to graduating seniors from the Mountain Ranch and Sheep Ranch areas....
This year’s show includes eight acts showcasing a variety of talents by local residents. This year’s show features Dayview with Dave Bristor and Sue Hinojoza, an exciting band making a name for itself in Calaveras County. They will be joined by the cultured duet of Linc Russin on mandolin and Gordon Rowland on classical guitar. Local favorite Gay Hakola-Maloney will play the piano, and Ron Brown will dance his super-fast fingers over the keys and chords of his accordion. Chris Carson is back in the program with more juggling and magic plus some new features in his popular act. The show will also include Mountain Ranch belly dancer Jen Horner in a multi-generational act with her daughter and mother. We even have a comedic preacher in the person of Jackson Baker who will have the audience rolling in the aisles with his own form of British humor. The show will conclude with our yearly big production number which is once again being kept a secret, but here’s a hint: think Nemo in the Olympics. That should have you guessing. You’ll just have to attend to find out what that one’s all about. The whole show will be tied together by the golden threat of an old time radio call-in show featuring Charlie and Harley at the mike and spirits of our gold rush past on the phones. Mountain Ranch has a secret treasure and it’s waiting for you at our town hall. Tickets at the door will be only $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years of age, best buy imaginable for an evening of stellar entertainment. There will be refreshments for sale and free popcorn. Last year people had such a great time, they’re sure to be returning for this year’s show so make plans to come and arrive early to get the best seats in the hall. This will be a great night of local talent for a cause worth supporting. It only comes around once a year so mark your calendar for March 29th and make plans to attend.
