Sheriff's Department Investigating Death in Mountain Ranch
Mountain Ranch, CA...Last week a concerned citizen called the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department. Blood was found inside a trailer of Gary Maines, 63. Deputies arrived and later found Mr. Maines partially decomposed body in a creek bed 150 yards away. Calaveras Coroner Kevin Raggion confirmed the idendtity of the body as that of Mr. Maines....
The cause of death is still under investigation from both the Coroners and Sheriff's Department. The official release from the Sheriff's Department is below...
San Andreas, CA) On 3/12/2014, at approximately 12:40 pm, deputies responded to a trailer on the 18000 block of Shadow Pine Lane in Mountain Ranch for a report of a suspicious circumstance, whereas blood was found inside a trailer belonging to Gary Maines (63) of Mountain Ranch. The reporting party could not locate Mr. Maines inside or around the trailer. The deputies searched the property and found what appeared to be partially decomposed human remains in a creek bottom, approximately 150 yards from the trailer.
At this time the identity of the deceased is unknown. During a subsequent autopsy there were no signs of foul play discovered. The remains will be analyzed further in order to positively determine the identity of the deceased.
