Employment Workshops for State Prison Staff Openings Planned
San Andreas, CA...The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation forecasts 7,000 job openings created by upcoming retirements. To recruit candidates for Peace Officers, the CDCR is partnering with Mother Lode Job Training and the Employment Development Department to host workshops on the hiring process for these positions. One workshop will be held in Calaveras County on Wednesday, March 26 in the Cheseborough Room at the Public Library located at 1299 Gold Hunter Road off of Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Space can be reserved by calling 754-4242.
An additional workshop will be held in Amador County on Monday, March 24 at the Health and Human Services building located at 10877 Conductor Blvd., #700 in Sutter Creek from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Space can be reserved by calling 223-3341.
The workshop will include an introduction to employment opportunities with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, how to navigate the CDRC website and how to apply on-line. Computers will be available to begin the process. Officer Candi Allen from CDCR will be on hand to answer questions.
