Mentoring Program “Spring Swing” Fundraiser Coming Up April 5, 2014!
Murphys, CA ... Calaveras County’s fresh new springtime fundraiser is taking shape as a festive and memorable treat for party-lovers and dancers of all types! The Spring Swing, a brand new event presented by the Calaveras Mentoring Foundation to raise funds for the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program, is coming right up on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. The Spring and Swing themes will sparkle throughout the event. Ironstone’s ballroom will be in full bloom with gorgeous flowers, foliage and cheerful seasonal decorations. Partygoers will enjoy a delicious multi-station 1950’s-themed buffet dinner with stops like Bobby’s Burger Barn, Bud’s Spuds, and Delilah’s Diner. Rod Harris and the Columbia Kicks will deliver their distinctive style of Big Band dance music, and accomplished local and professional swing dancers will be ‘for hire’ to teach or just dance with guests who want to look really good on the dance floor. The Live Jukebox will invite patrons to ‘command the band’ to play some favorite songs...
Master of Ceremonies Dave Bowman will guide the evening’s entertainment, which also includes a live auction of exciting adventures in dining and travel. A highlight of the evening will be the thrill of everyone trying their keys to the treasure chest to see who wins a two-week dance-themed cruise for two to Hawaii! Only 100 keys will be sold, and key holders need not be present to win.
Many wonderful sponsors have already stepped up to support the inaugural Spring Swing, and more sponsors are always welcome. Tad and Jane Bottomley-Winans are this year’s Spring Swing Sponsors; other major sponsors include Mark Twain Medical Center and Calaveras County Office of Education.
Spring Swing reservations ($75 each) and keys to the treasure chest ($100 each) are available online via calaverasmentoring.org/springswing or by contacting the Calaveras Mentoring Foundation at 209-736-7706 or calaverasmentoringfoundation@gmail.com. Interested sponsors should contact Donna Shannon, sponsorship coordinator, at 209-754-4997.
