Big April Plans at Deborah Marlene's As Linda Abbott Trapp Will Be Featured
Mokelumne Hill, CA...Deborah Marlene is "shaking things up a bit" this April. Those of you who have visited this quaint little gallery in Mokelumne Hill, previously, would have seen Deborah's work, along with her "Artist Friend of the Month". While cards, smaller paintings and gifts will still be present this April; the Gallery walls will be covered with the colorful works of Linda Abbott Trapp....
After six months, and that many Artist Friends, Deborah is pleased to announce this "One Woman Show". Linda is a self-described "prolific artist" so, Deborah will be taking a little time off. "This will be easy to do with the experience of Linda, entering the Gallery for April.", says Deborah.
Linda began her art career in the late 1960's, operating a pottery and weaving studio in Wisconsin, where she continued studies in serigraph production and sculpture. She also operated a supply shop for pottery and weaving.
Linda and her husband lived in Puerto Vallarta for 5 1/2 years, following her retirement from a consulting career. In 2009, they returned to California, and settled in Valley Springs.
Linda Abbot Trapp refers to art as "her first love". She paints in a style that is called "Lyrical Abstraction", mixing psychological idealisms into each of her art pieces. She has held a number of one-woman shows and has received numerous prestigious awards.
Linda offers a one day "Watercolor Boot Camp" several times a year. The next session will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014, from 1PM to 4PM; in the newly landscaped outside garden area at Deborah Marlene's, 8242 Main Street, Mokelumne Hill, CA. Class size is limited to 6 students. The fee is $35.00 and supplies are included for this one time instruction. If you are interested in participating in this coming "Watercolor Boot Camp" you can contact Linda directly, at 209 772-0502.
In addition to the above class. Deborah is offering both personal and multi-student classes to reconvene on April 18, 2014. A class supply list is available by email or you may pick up a copy at the Gallery. "Mokelumne Hill, also known as the "Miami of the Sierras" has an abundance of subject matter to draw inspiration from. Here in the "Banana Belt" we have Citrus and Palm Trees, Roses and many other blooming flowers....thanks to the conspicuous absence of deer in town. Here, we will be able to explore painting, "en plein air" on location, in gardens and on the streets of Mokelumne HIll; throughout the rest of Spring and Summer. I invite you to join a class and enjoy the excitement of learning to use and control this wonderful medium of Watercolor.", says Deborah.
Please join us, as we gear up for the Spring and Summer here in Mokelumne HIll. Deborah Marlene's will be having all future "Meet the Artist Receptions" on the first Saturday of the Month from 4PM to 6PM. You are invited to meet LInda Abbot Trapp and view her Art at her Reception on, Saturday, April 5th. Hope to see you then!
