Bret Harte Swimmers Outkick Calaveras High
Angels Camp, CA ... Today was a stellar day for the Bret Harte Swim Team. Coming off of three away meets in the last two weeks, being back in their home pool the team swam numerous personal bests and were able to place extremely well against Calaveras. The Final Score -Girls: BH 116 CHS 54 Boys: BH 104 CHS 66.
The girls relay teams had a record breaking day. Placing first in the 200 medley relay, junior Bethanni Riedel (backstroke), Freshman Elise Sanzeri (breastroke), Junior Shelby Warner (butterfly), and freshman April Johnson (freestyle). Bret Harte Girls also took first and second in the 200 freestyle relays. First place team included freshman April Johnson, Freshman Kaya Fishman, Senior Jaymie Heryford and junior Shelby Warner. Second Place relay team included Senior Bria Calhoun, Freshman Claire Gorman, Junior Molly Chaney and Junior Katie Johnson.
To finish out the day, the girls went on to take first, second and third in the 400 freestyle relay. First place finishing team: junior Shelby Warner, Junior Bethanni Riedel, Senior Jaymie Heryford and freshman April Johnson. Second Place team: Junior Molly Chaney, Sophomore Audrey Hart, Freshman Claire Gorman and Senior Hannah Werthman. Third place team: Sophomore Hope Cooper, Sophomore Samantha Moore, Freshman Emma Diegoli and Freshman Elise Sanzeri.
The Bret Harte Boys continue to swim personal bests and now hold a record of 8-0. Junior Logan Millar grabbed a first place finish in the first event of the day, the 200 yard freestyle. Bret Harte was also able to take second and third in that event, with Junior Colin Boblet and Junior Henry Jeanor respectively. Junior Joey Hecocks and Sophomore Austin Qualls both swam personal bests in the 200 Individual Medley, placing first and second. In Bret Harte boys swimming fashion, the A relay in the 400 yard freestyle relay finished the day strong with a first place (Boblet, Millar, Hecocks, Thompson. Bret Harte swims at home again Friday against Linden.
