Calaveras Animal Shelter Has Your Friends Waiting
Calaveras County, CA ... The Calaveras Humane Society is promoting has several canine guests at the shelter that would love to have new homes.
Hercules, a 2-3 year old, white and tan male Bulldog/Pit could be just what you need. He was mellow on all physical testing, will chase a ball but really prefers to be with his person, especially if you give good tummy rubs! He pulls like a tank on the leash so could use some training. He is looking for a home where he could be an only child and someplace with no cats or livestock. Beware of big slobbery kisses. Hercules weighs 63 pounds, is Heartworm negative, up on all shots but rabies and will need to be neutered before he can take up permanent occupancy of your heart and home.

Julie is a black Boxer cross, 10-11 years old, weighs in at 51 pounds, current on all shots but Rabies and sadly suffering from Heartworm. If you can find a place in your heart and home for this sweet gal, the Calaveras Humane Society will provide for her medical treatment.

Mac is a 9-10 year old neutered red & white American Staffordshire Terrier/ Pit mix who acts like a 5 year old and will grin for a good butt rub and sit for treats. He's current on his shots except rabies, which just expired, weighs 48 pounds, doesn't like cats and is sadly Heartworm positive. The Calaveras Humane Society will provide for his medical treatment if you will take him to your heart.

Mickey is shy male Parsons Russell Terrier about 4 1/2 years old and weighs about 16 pounds. He's Black and White, will need to be neutered, is Heartworm negative and current on all shots but Rabies. He needs a little fine tuning on the leash as he does pull. He's housebroken, crate trained, rides well in a car and doesn't dig or chase cars. He likes rope toys and balls but is not fond of children or the vacuum.

Nella is an 8 year old Husky and German Shepherd mix. She weighs 90 pounds and frankly would benefit from loosing a few. Her owner had surgery and is no longer able to care for her. This delightful lady is mellow and very polite on the leash. Per owner she does not do well around cats or livestock. She is used to being around adults so probably not suited for a family with young children. She does qualify for our 55/5 Program. Nella is spayed.

Vega is a hefty 70 pound, 4 year old spayed female pit who acts like a 1 year old. Loves to run and play but walks nicely on leash. She has very nice eating manners also.
Vega is heartworm negative and up on all shots except rabies. This is one big easy going girl.
