The Latest Happenings From The Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance
Mountain Ranch, CA....NEW Art Exhibit on display for May / June: “Inner Voices”, paintings by Amador County artist Indigo Carlton. Look for her Open House / Artist Reception Party on Friday June 20th from 2-6 PM. The day will also feature an appearance by the Sonora Drum Circle, and local author/storyteller Alan Horvath who will be reading from his book Tales of the Great Creator. Lots of art, fun, food and merry making on tap!
Calling all Local Artists with a body of show-able work! The Resource Center is always looking to feature new folks for our Bi-Monthly Rotating Art Shows. Contact Kristine Louise at the Center to schedule a meeting and review the space and exhibition criteria.
Lunch with Us continues to be enjoyed by many on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, May 1st and 15th, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Center opens earlier at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, socializing, WiFi use, etc. These luncheons are jointly offered by the MRYA/Resource Center and the Mtn Ranch Community Club, and the Mtn Ranch Lutheran Church and Mtn. Ranch Community Church help with their support. Plan to join us for lunch and meet some new friends. The lunches are free but donations are very welcome!

Doug Quintal’s Musician’s Night has moved to THURSDAYS beginning in May. The activity has been slow to get off the ground this spring. If any local musicians would like to participate, please call the Center on Thursdays during open hours to confirm practice is happening. This is an open group and any local musicians are welcome to join.
Food Programs: Patty Hession reports that many families are being helped by the food programs based at the Resource Center’s front building (Whiskey Slide Rd. at Mtn Ranch Rd.). Twice a month she and her dedicated crew of helpers operate the Food Commodities (1st Thursday, 9-11 a.m.) and Food Pantry (3rd Thursday, 9-11 a.m.). Patty reports there is a great need for donations of dog and cat food, items not funded under these programs. For more information, call Patty at 754-9111.
New Herb Class for Spring: Saturday May 10th, 11 am to 3 pm - Liniments, Acetums and Glycerites. This will be something of an experimental workshop focusing on how to use 3 different extraction mediums for making tinctures. $20 pre-paid, please register by Thursday May 8th. LUNCH WITH US: Free community meal on the first and third Thursdays, May 1st and 15th, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Prior to the lunch, the Resource Center opens at 9:00 AM for coffee, socializing, WiFi use, etc. Please note there are 5 Thursdays in May so there will be a longer interval before the June food delivery and luncheon.
FOOD COMMODITIES: First Thursday May 1st, from 9:00 am to 11:00 AM, at the front building.
FOOD PANTRY: Third Thursday May 15th, 9:00 AM -11:00 AM, at the front building, followed by Lunch With Us from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Resource Center.

HATHA YOGA: Every Wednesday, 9:30-11:00 AM. Cost is $5, plus $2 for the Resource Center, taught by Kristine Louise. Please dress in layers for both warm and cool conditions as class meets outside on the back patio. No Class week of May 7th.
NOTE: We will be starting at 9 am beginning in June; start time will be 9:30 for the month of May.

Outdoor Party Season is here, are you interested in renting the Resource Center for your next workshop, social or community event? Call the front desk at 754-4073 and find out about the affordable rates for the best rentable living room in Mountain Ranch. This is a great way to help support the Youth Alliance/Resource Center.
PROPANE SWITCH:
The Resource Center receives thirty-five gallons of free propane from Campora whenever anyone switches from their current provider to them. To find out their rates, call Campora at 736-0449.
SAVEMART SHARES CARD: By swiping your S.H.A.R.E. card at check out, 3% of your sales goes back to us. Pick up a specially-coded S.H.A.R.E. card at the Resource Center front table.
E-Waste Recycling: We are now working with “Nor Cal Electronics Recycling, making our planet greener one day at a time.” No major appliances, but anything else with a cord as well as computers complete or in parts can be accepted; also lcd tv’s and monitors. It’s necessary to come during business hours and sign the log in order for us to take your delivery.
