May's "Artist Friend of the Month" is Peggy Huth At Deborah Marlene's
Mokelumne Hill, CA...As May arrives, we are enjoying a few Spring Showers and many beautiful blooming flowers, both domestic and wild; that can be seen in your travels through the beautiful green hills, of the Mother Lode. Deborah's Mission is to Feature Local Art and Artisans; while helping to educate and promote visual arts in Calaveras County. This month, Deborah's "Artist Friend of the Month" is Peggy Huth. Peggy resides with her husband Jim, in Arnold, CA. She is a member of the Arts of Bear Valley and shows in all of their venues...
Peggy enjoys painting the remarkable colors, shapes and textures in nature that are often unnoticed in our everyday lives. Although she will, on occasion, express nature and life in watercolor or oil pastels, her first love is acrylic and mixed media. Peggy has attended Diablo Valley College and Sacramento State College. Her background also includes participation in numerous workshops; with such notable teachers as Oliver Jackson, an abstract painter extraordinaire; Margaret Wall-Ramana, who taught her the freedom of expression; Diane Rusnak's workshop, which helped Peggy to bring the wonderful textures of nature to the view, through mixed media; and Robert Burridge, who imparted the idea that she was not living in a little box and gave her permission to paint outside of the lines
.
Peggy has received a number of blue ribbon awards and has collectors throughout the United States and Europe. "I am honored to have such an accomplished artist join me here in my Gallery", says Deborah.
Deborah Marlene, will be showing her tribute to living in these beautiful foothills, with many of her recent wildflower paintings on exhibit, during the month of May. She works in watercolors nearly every day, and invites you to come in and observe the creative process. In addition to her own Gallery, she is showing at Ironstone Vineyards in the Spring Obsession exhibit , and at Meadowmont Center, near the Big Trees Market, in Arnold, in the Arts of Bear Valley Window Gallery, through the end of May. The window gallery, is co-ordinated by Ann Nancy Macomber, for the Arts of Bear Valley Group.
New to Deborah Marlene's is the addition of Wild Hare Jewlery...custom created by Ron and Carole Kamerlink, of Murphys. The flame painting that Ron does on Copper is a real "must see". Ron and Carole have been quite successful in the marketing of their custom pieces and will be demonstrating part of their creative process here over the 4th of July. Also, slated to participate in the July festivities, is Ruth Morrow of Arnold. Deborah has a nice selection of Ruth's Miniature Paintings for sale at her Gallery.
We invite you to come and meet Peggy Huth, this coming Saturday, May 3rd from 1PM to 4PM . LIght refreshments and beverage will be served. Enjoy viewing her expressive and color filled Art pieces.
Deborah Marlene's is located at h 8242 Main Street in Historic Mokelumne HIll. Gallery hours are 10AM-5PM Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, and 10AM to 4PM on Sundays.
