Ironstone Vineyards Appoints Chef Robert Root as New Executive Chef
Murphys, Ca , May 8th, 2014 - It is with great pleasure that the Kautz family of Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, CA welcomes Chef Robert Root on board as our New Executive Chef. Chef Robert brings over 20 years of talent to the culinary profession. A graduate from the California Culinary Academy and certified in Mediterranean Cuisine from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York. He has obtained extraordinary job skills at acclaimed restaurants such as Curry Village in Yosemite National Park, Aqua in San Francisco, The Estate by the Elderberries Relais and Chateau in Oakhurst, Leftbank in Tiburon and Greystone at The Culinary Institute in St. Helena....
He is also a proud father of two children, and in his down time he loves to hike, surf, and garden. He is the founder of Pallet to Palate ‘Shake the Hand that Feeds You’, a non profit organization that promotes the connection of chef and farmer with education to the next generation farmer, to support and sustain local resources
