Murphys, CA...What’s Happening in Murphys this Week May 6 through May 16 Save the Date - June 20-22, 2014 - Behind the Bottle Weekend - The week-end kicks-off on Friday night with a concert in Murphys Park, the heart of Calaveras County. Bring a folding chair and a couple of blankets to settle in for a night of swing music by the band Swing Gitane. Wines by the glass and food will be available for purchase. Friday, June 20, 6:00 pm, Murphys Park. No ticket required.... Spend the weekend chatting with your favorite winery staff while sampling their latest releases, or attend a wine appreciation, wine making, wine blending, food pairing, cheese or charcuterie workshop. Full event schedule coming in April. Behind the Bottle ticket sales start April 1, 2014 at calaveraswines.org...





Wine Down Friday @ Stevenot - Each first Friday of each month from 5-8 pm Stevenot hosts "Wine Down Friday" in the Tasting Room on Main St. Murphys. This is an opportunity to meet the owners and staff while enjoying Stevenot Wines by the glass, party platters, and live music. Call 209-728-3485 for more information.

April Artist Showing at Hovey Tasting Room - The expressionistic oil paintings of Leslie Hurst will be showcased during the month of May at Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys.

Fridays & Saturdays in Murphys - Local Food & Wine Tours - Join Murphys Food and Wine Tours every Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 2:30 pm. Each tour is approximately three and a half hours. Fridays and Saturdays at Zucca Tasting Room - "Zucca After Hours" is open 5-8 pm. If you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a glass of wine on a Friday or Saturday night, the Zucca garden is your place. All those firepits are even better to sit by on a cool winter evening and we've got some nice bar seating in the Toscano room. We always welcome your picnic items or takeout from area restaurants should you want to make a night of it."

May 13, 2014 - Paleo Cooking Class at Marisolio Tasting Bar - Otherwise known as the Caveman's Diet, Paleo cooking emphasizes meats, poultry, fish, eggs, veggies, fruit, fungi, roots, nuts, tubers and natural oils (olive oil among them). The thought behind this diet is that only foods a caveman could find will be eaten. Classes are held at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on enrollment.
