Crane should be in jail, not running in an election. There are some serious skeletons in her closet. Real reporters should dig into it instead of kissing her a$$.

Darren, Darren, Darren when are you going to be a man and sign your comments? Your usual quick-tempered potshots are your hallmark. It's only when you are in adult mode and pontificating that you actually sign your name.

You might be fooling some people, but too many people now know the real you. In fact, 50% plus 1 know the real you.

FINAL CONCLUSION........ Merrita is on dozens of boards and commitees, not everyone knows that. Mike B. seems like a nice guy, he just needs to research and prepare for the job before running. There is more to it than he is aware of. Mike O. has proved he is incompetent of making rational decisions. Highly animated and quick to make a decision without looking at other points of view. Serious mistakes and screw ups are the norm for him. All in all, it appears to be a pretty simple choice.

I know it is off subject, but the Barrett campaign photo with the real judges is just plain weird. I get a spooky feeling when I see it.

The picture of the cold judges flanking Barrett made me decide to vote for one of us - Foley.

My wife thought that Barrett's picture looked like he was a TOOL of the two judges. Both will get double dipping as assigned judges if Barrett is elected.

Like , Foley owns the Black Bart Hotel, Bar and Restaurant, the Red Brick Saloon, and probably a bunch of other properties in San Andreas. Being a real good judge takes a lot of hours. How is he going to devote his full attention and time to being a judge when he has all those other businesses to manage? Maybe he needs the judge income to keep the others afloat.

Meritta had a shot, she blew it. What a waste of time. She did nothing but help her rich hippy friends. Good bye.
Borean is a joke, he has no idea what he is doing. I have met him twice now, and have to say that not only is he lost politically, he really inst a nice guy at all. He came across as a know it all. Arrogant. We have enough people like him in politics.

Why hasn't anyone questioned how Foley could ever be an impartial judge in this county. Since most dirtbags & tweekers are repeat offenders and he has been the go-to attorney for them for years, it stands to reason that every other case he would be hearing would be a former client. Foley is slimey - always has been, always will be.

Big Boy

Who's the big boy I've never heard of? Put down the Twinkies already! Must be a Republican trying to channel Chris Christy the union busting a candle ridden Jersey Boy. Did I mention putting down the twinkies?

The two incumbents knew so much more it's almost unfair. These candidates really need to know more than they do before getting into this type of a race. I do think Crane has a good point about this. She obviously knows more than any of the other candidates other than the incumbents and it shows.

Totally rude to call names. Not necessary. If you are going to judge a man by his size then you better look in the mirror first, and at your friends and family too.

The man's name is Steve Kearney and he is the man for the job for District 5. He has done more for District 5 residents and the area's economic growth and community engagement than the incumbent has ever even blinked. If you stopped fixating long enough on the man's size and actually listened to what he is saying you'll find he has great ideas for us and is willing to listen to us. Something the incumbent hasn't a clue about.

So quit throwing around names. Try basing your opinion on facts.

How can he help the county when he can't even help himself avoid a heart attack? In the video he says he has been retired for 7 years and he's only about 57 according to one of the candidate blurbs in the paper. So he retired at age 50? Did he retire for "Medical" reasons? Now he wants to get elected so the county taxpayers can finance his second retirement and the health care costs for his eating disorder? Maybe he should get his own personal health in order and come back in four years. I don't want to pay for his meds and hospital care for life when he has a heart attack at 58 years old and now has taxpayer funded benefits for life!

      Put down the twinkies!

When can we expect to see him try? Before or after he has a major medical event on the taxpayers money through county health benefits? If he doesn't lose the election in June will he make a serious effort before the November vote?

Any county employee could suffer a medical retirement or serious illness. To base your vote on a person's size is incredibly shallow and shows just how STUPID (yes in all caps) your opinion is. Choosing a candidate by their size would be like choosing the incumbent because he has Ken hair and wears a nice blue blazer.

Hopefully District 5 voters are smarter than you and look at each candidate for their passion and commitment to Calaveras County.

I don't want Steve as Supervisor because when he was on the planning commission he recommended a "yes" vote for Trinitas. We all know how that turned out. And while we're talking Trinitas, Ken Foley is the attorney who represented the Neemies (sp) who sued the county. Neither of these men should be elected to a county office!

Sombody knows what's going on here. I was starting to wonder. Kearney, Foley and the whole lot of that crowd are a bunch of crooks as far as I can tell. Crookedness does seem to pay though since everyone knows there are some big money makers that are still shaking their tail feathers even though they are not legally any better than the Trinitas crowd.

Kearney is a yes man for people with money it's written all over his face. Maybe if he's elected he can bring Trinitas back from the dead and the county will get lots of tax money and everything will be peaches and cream. Kearney's a good salesman for peaches and cream.

Kearney may have voted on the re-zoning based on false promises the Nemees were giving everyone. LIke improved PUBLIC water from Wallace. Sure. Unfortunately even the planning commission was a victim of this couple. The Nemees didn't seem to follow the land zoning process and did what they wanted.

It doesn't make Kearney a bad choice. In fact, Kearney was just upholding the zoning and planning laws. Can't slight a man for that. Otherwise the county would have been in a worse lawsuit than it was with the Nemees.

But Foley wasn't a victim. He profitted by suing the county.

Foley has made a lot of money suing the County. He hasn't won any, or many that I recall. But for sure it cost the County (taxpayers) a lot of money to defend against the lawsuits.

Darren, quit name calling and teasing Mr. Kearney. We can see right through the "peaches and cream" comment. Only you would stoop so low as to attack your opponent about their size.

No, I rather see Mr. Kearney as a big guy with big energy -- omething you grossly lack given your absenteeism and tardiness at weekly Board of Supes and committee meetings. At least we will get 110% energy out of Kearney for our tax dollars that pay the supes salary.

Interesting that not a single comment has been posted as to who the groups hosting this event actually are. In one room you had the most liberal contingent of activists presenting a 'party'. You know they wanted dearly to expose those nasty rascal conservatives running for local offices and use this platform to drive their endorsement for liberal candidates. If the audience size was small, no surprise here, I wasn't willing to waste my time surrounded by all the one sided views. How many of these groups have the 501-C3 to allow them to be politically active? Or, is that used for only conservative groups to shut them up and keep the non-tolerated views off the table.
