Is this sh@# h#@& ever going to be cleaned up ? Tear down the low income housing, arrest the dirt bags. Arnold has become an absolute drug magnet. Where's the deputies ? Hiding in some remote and safe place? Gimme a break ! This type of activity is so typical of the area, our SO should be spending a lot more time patrolling, and strapping on a set of b#lls, confront the scum. Maybe they're just too scared. LOL

It would appear from the facts of this report that "cleaning up this mess" is exactly what the Sheriff''s office was doing with these arrests. Are officials supposed to apprehend anyone they might suspect of being druggies or completely clear out areas of the County where drug activity is suspected to exist? As far as I know, that is not how it is done in America, at least not yet. When a crime is committed, then officials can step in and arrest the parties, as was done here.

There are a lot more of us behind this way of thinking than you think.
Law enforcement is worthless in this matter. They will arrest many time offenders and the scumbags are out doing their thing again within hours.
I'm sick of hearing how their hands are tied. I think the time is here for a little of the old west clean up in Arnold. If the law can't do the job, they need to be replaced along with the lack of leadership . Vote them out now!! One last comment. Watch your back scumbags, We , the good people in Arnold are done with this bull*bleep*. We've had enough!!!!!

I' m a retired cop and have observed blatent drug deals at the Meadowmont shopping area. One deputy cannot deal with these guys alone. But a couple deputies working together can do a great deal of good by getting OUT of their cars and investigating suspicious activity. It's so blatant it is a black eye on our otherwise beautiful area of great residents.

Nice job Sunday morning with Deputy Ken and whoever else was there. Another nice job from our S/O on the Dunbar rd. arrests. It seems to me that for the 1st time in a long time OUR deputies are kicking butt, Now if the courts would do the same thing this problem would go away. Thank you to our new resident Deputy Kyle and the rest of the department. I for one will stand and back you. This has nothing to do with elections, just plain ole' police work.

The sheriffs deputies are doing their job. They make multiple arrests daily, usually related to meth as of late. The problem isnt our S.O. The problem is our current District Attorney and County Prosecutor who plead everything down to avoid a trial. That is why we have a catch and release program in Calaveras County.

If we legalized all drug use these losers would solve our problem for us by dying off. The drugs would be cheap, the cartels would go broke, and we could stop wasting billions trying to save the lives of losers.

as long as You expect Law enforcement to deal with the drug problem, things will Never change, no amount of deputies or money will ever make much difference. Drugs and alcohol are a public health catastrophe, and until it is dealt with as such, nothing will change..

Arnold is a "dying town" that much is unfortantly true. But to say it is an arm pit or compare it to major urban area ghettos is almost laughable. Just gotta clean up the trash. And it all starts with jobs and education.

You all have the chance to elect a Supervisor and a Sherrif who may continue along the path governing the Arnold area as a "has been" or elect two individuals who will change things -- it is up to the voters.

Shut the hell up with the voting. No matter who you vote for. They get in and their hands are tied . No matter who you. Vote in, they will get nothing substantial done. There's no money, there's no approval
By supervisors, on and on. So shut up and you do something. Get creative and do something. Or are all of you old men bitching.

I'm so grateful that when we came up here years ago that we settled in Murphys. I really did want to be up higher, but we were thinking about the snow problem when we were older. Never would of dreamed two decades later it would become such a seedy, trashy dump full of druggies and thiefs.
Good luck in cleaning up your community. You'll need it.

Arnold needs a change of direction...
Posted on: 2014-05-15 08:52:20   By: Anonymous

It starts with law enforcement -- law and order. It also requires County governance and a Supervisor who makes this a priority. Once order is there, consumer will support the community and businesses will support both. It is the economic circle of life that Arnold has lost -- Good thing -- it can be reversed and returned to what it use to me, but it takes leadership

No, it takes money and a good regular and reliable customer base. Get real. There is no industry or tourism. Bear valley is dead, no snow, and even if there was snow, highway 4 needs to be enlarges and straightened to make access to Arnold and area easier and faster. If you build it they will come. But they first have to be able to get there.

Hey folks I do not get involved with the mean spirited back n forth ,but needed to share that most of this community/residents of Arnold regardless of political or religious affiliation will show up for one another when the chips are down ,ie, fire or illness or hunger etc, and this is what will remain of our up country population, I graduated Calaveras High school in 81 what was happening then regarding drugs and booze remains but honestly it has changed the homicide rate has dropped violent crime was worse 30 years back so lets try to not separate ourselves with hate or political back n forth . Blessings to and through us all.
