University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), Center for Forestry, Placer County, American Basin Council of Watersheds, Northern California Society of American Foresters, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife will co-sponsor a workshop on reviewing, planning and implementing fuels treatments in suburban parks and open spaces.

Workshop objectives: treatments to reduce fuel loads in suburban parks and open space can create concerns about their potential ecological and environmental impacts. This workshop has been developed to address some of those concerns through a series of presentations by specialists and entities doing fuels treatments. Field trips to sites where treatments have been applied are included in the program.

The workshop is intended for anyone involved in reviewing, planning and implementing fuels treatments in suburban parks and open space. Any and all interested agencies and citizens are also invited. Attendees should provide their own transportation and lunch.
