Over the past several weeks there has been much buzz about Calaveras Door of Hope. What’s the “buzz” about?
Back in March we received a call from Supervisor Darren Spellman. He wanted to know who Calaveras Door of Hope was, what we did and why he didn’t already know about us. On March 24th, I sat down with Supervisor Spellman and shared with him the CDOH history. With that information, Supervisor Spellman brought a Resolution before the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors at the April 8th BOS meeting to acknowledge us for the work we do for the people in need of our services in Calaveras County.
The board voted 3-1-1. Supervisors Debbie Ponte (District 4), Supervisor Cliff Edson (District 1) and Supervisor Darren Spellman (District 5) all voted yes in favor of the Resolution. Supervisor Chris Wright (District 2) voted no and Supervisor Marita Callaway (District 3) chose to abstain from voting on the grounds of separation of church and state.
All in all it was a huge victory for CDOH. The PR alone was amazing.
There were articles in the Calaveras Enterprise, the Union Democrat and the Stockton Record, both in print and on the web.
On April 14, I had the privilege speaking with Mark Truppner of KVML. fWe pre-
recorded an interview for the News Maker of the Day segment which aired on April 16th. The interview can be heard on mymotherlode.com under news maker of the day.
A mobile unit is part of the vision for Calaveras Door of Hope.
Ultrasound gives us a window to the womb.
90%-98% of abortion-minded or abortion-vulnerable women will choose life upon seeing their child via ultrasound.
It is our hope that we would be able to offer an alternative to women seeking help with an unwanted pregnancy.
By using a mobile ultrasound, we can go right to them as a visible alternative of hope. Mobile ultrasounds are successfully operating in many areas of the United States including Dallas, New York, California, Arizona and Florida.
We believe God has a plan…
We have a dream...to bring mobile ultrasound to Calaveras County.
Dream BIG with us!!
Thank you all for your support.
