Calaveras Arts Council Kicks Off Music in the Parks with Snap Jackson & The Knock on Wood Players at Copperopolis Town Square

Copperopolis, Ca...Music in the Parks opens up with Stockton based Snap Jackson & The Knock on Wood Players who have performed all over the northern California for private parties, night clubs, community groups, county fairs and more. They are new to Calaveras Arts Council’s Music in the Parks but a favorite of many friends and neighbors in the tri county area. Their music is a blend of Americana, bluegrass, soul, and old time music. Their music is fresh, energetic, and a real crowd pleaser. Calaveras Arts Council’s Free Music in the Park 2014 series kicks off in Copperopolis at the Town Square on Wednesday, June 11. Music plays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, but come early, bring your picnic dinner, and sit back to enjoy the evening...

Snap Jackson & The Knock on Wood Players are: Snap Jackson on lead vocals, banjo, ukulele; Shane Kalbach on vocals, fiddle, mandolin; Eric Antrim on vocals and guitar; Brian Clark on vocals and upright bass.

This is an energetic, talented, creative group of musicians with the wonderful ability to delight a wide spectrum of audiences, young and old. They perform original material with an occasional well-chosen cover tune thrown in. Gene Bach from the Susanville Bluegrass Festival says “if you’re in the audience when there guys play, and don’t get excited, check your pulse because you’re probably dead.”

So give your friends and family a call and plan your Wednesday evening in the lovely town square. The concert is FREE and has become a great way to visit Copperopolis. It’s well worth the journey.

The Copperopolis Town Square is located off Highway 4 in Copperopolis. Take Highway 4 West from Angels Camp and travel about 12 miles until you see the Town Square on the left. Park on the streets and enjoy the walk. The next Music in the Parks concert is June 18 at Angels Camp, Utica Park. Oakland based band, Delta Wires performs their high energy interpretation of the blues. For a downloadable schedule of Music in the Parks and other events presented by the Calaveras Arts Council go to www.calaverasarts.org or call
