Calaveras’ own O.A.R.S. has secured a special use
permit to raft a gorgeous, mostly gentle, six-mile
stretch of the Mokelumne River that is not yet
available for commercial use. June 8th has been
designated as one of the especially scheduled
recreational flow days this year.

RIVER RATING: CLASS II-III MILES COVERED: 6 RIVER MILES
The Mokelumne River offers an excellent rafting experience to families, beginners, and anyone interested in
witnessing some of Calaveras’ most breathtakingly beautiful scenery. The trip is appropriate for ages 7-87.
Located near Jackson, the Electra stretch of river is considered Class II-III and features several long, peaceful
pools with a bit of excitement near the end.
