Deputy Sheriff’s Association Supports Community

San Andreas, Ca... The Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) administers a donor advised fund for the Calaveras Deputy Sheriff’s Association (DSA). The DSA is an affiliation of sworn deputies and personnel from the Calaveras Sheriff’s Department. They independently raise funds for causes that benefit and promote public safety in the County. They also work with schools to provide funds for extracurricular activities and provide scholarships for students wishing to pursue a law enforcement career. To date in 2014, the following monetary grants have been made by DSA: Calaveras High School Wrestling Team received $500 that will pay for new mats. $300 went to the Lady Reds Softball team for equipment and uniforms. The 6th grade Volley Ball program in Valley Springs will continue due to the $300 they were granted. Calaveras Youth Wrestling now has new uniforms and the $500 donation helped offset the cost of insurance...

“The DSA wants to make a difference in young people’s lives before we see them in trouble” said DSA President Brian Baker. “We want young people of all ages to see us as the good guys. Our hope is to set an example early in their lives before we become adversaries.”
CCF salutes the Deputy Sheriff’s Association for having the foresight to support youth activities and make grants giving County youth opportunities that are otherwise unavailable.
