Tuesdays in Murphys - Winemakers Night at Alchemy - every Tuesday night from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Enjoy a featured wine and a great meal. As always, there is live music on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. Call 209.728.0700 for reservations.
Fridays & Saturdays in Murphys - Local Food & Wine Tours - Join Murphys Food and Wine Tours every Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 2:30 pm. Each tour is approximately three and a half hours. You’ll get the inside story about the area’s rough-and-tumble past. Purchase tickets online by visiting Local-Food-Tours.com or by calling 800-407-8918 directly. Private group tours are available by appointment.

June 4, 2014 - Artist's Getaway Show - Artists enjoying an Artist Getaway painting vacation will be displaying their paintings for sale from 4 pm to 7 pm on the Hovey Tasting Room lawn. You will recognize the local scenery and have an opportunity to purchase a “just finished” painting. Please come by to admire the paintings and vote for the People’s Choice Award which will be presented at 6:30 pm.
June 5, 2014 - Murphys Farmers & Artisans Market - The Murphys Farmers and Artisan Crafts Market will kick off on Thursday in the Outer Aisle's parking lot from 4 pm until dusk. The cafe will be open and Mountain Melody will be providing music from 6:30 pm until about 7:30 pm. The Market features local produce, baked goods, grass fed meats, artisan crafts and local music. June 7, 2014 - Artist Reception at the Hovey Tasting Room -The oil paintings of Janette Jones will be showcased during the month of June at Hovey Winery Tasting Room, 350 A Main St., Murphys. An artist’s reception in her honor will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7 with complimentary appetizers and wine available by the glass for $5.

June and July, 2014 - Youth Tennis Clinics - Registrations are now being accepted for a series of Youth Tennis Clinics to be held in Calaveras County beginning June 9. The program is open to all junior players, ages 6 to 17, with a special emphasis on current and aspiring high school athletes. The sessions will be held at Bret Harte High School, Angels Camp, and the Wintercreek Tennis Facility in Murphys. The Wintercreek Facility is located adjacent to the historic schoolhouse on Jones St. in Murphys.
June 10, 2014 - Paella Class at Marisolio Tasting Room - Valencia, Spain is the birthplace of its famous Paella Valenciana. There are as many variations of this traditional dish as there are cooks, but basic ingredients include mariscos (shellfish), sausage, chicken or rabbit, rice, saffron and a few vegetables. Because of the expensive (imported) ingredients, we must charge an extra fee for this class, but you will not be disappointed. Lots to taste.
The dessert for this extravaganza will feature a traditional Spanish Olive Oil Cake. Bring a friend and get a $5 discount on your ticket. Classes are held at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on enrollment. Call the store at (209) 728-8853 for reservations.
