Pinecrest Lake Fish Faire Promises Family Fun!

Sonora, Ca…The U.S. Forest Service invites the public to celebrate the outdoors by attending the Annual Pinecrest Lake Fish Faire on the Stanislaus National Forest (NF), June 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free, National Get Outdoors Day event is sponsored by the Stanislaus NF, Pinecrest Lake Resort, California Department of Fish and Game, Kiwanis Club of Sonora and the Stanislaus NF Employees Association. Children up to 16-years of age and accompanied by an adult, are invited to come out and enjoy a memorable day of discovering the joys of fishing and recreation on National Forest lands...


The Fish Faire includes: humor and musical entertainment by Bill Roberson, many hands-on activities, a free hot dog lunch and new passport stations. Smokey Bear, Sammy & Frances Fish and Woodsy Owl will also be in attendance.

Festivities include:

7:30 to 10:30 a.m. – Registration at the Pinecrest Amphitheater
8 to 11:30 a.m. – Fishing and Casting Contests
9 to 11:30 a.m. – Activities and Displays: fly fishing with Mother Lode Fly Fishing Club; camping; and celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Lunch with Entertainment at Amphitheater
12:30 to 1 p.m. – Presentation of Fishing Awards
*** Registered participants who visit specific stations can fish for a prize.
