Stardust Cowboys Entertain First Friday in July

Murphys, Ca...The Stardust Cowboys will provide the music when the Murphys Community Club’s First Friday of the Month event is presented July 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the cool confines of Murphys Community Park. The group has been entertaining crowds throughout Northern California for the past 20 years at nightclubs, fairs, rodeos, regional concerts and cowboy events. Besides their well-received original material and country western dance music, the band's specialty is cowboy and western swing. From June to September, the First Friday in the Park series features a performance by a popular musical group playing in the iconic gazebo starting at 5:30 p.m. From 5 p.m., a special dinner is available for purchase at $10.00 per person and an excellent local wine is on sale along with other beverages. This month, Lila & Sage will be catering the dinner. The menu will consist of Italian sausage, with peppers and onions, on special rolls topped with Romesco sauce; penne pasta with tomatoes, basil and Parmesan cheese; watermelon slices, and baked brownies. There will be a limited number of dinners available. Newsome-Harlow will be the featured vintner....

Friends and neighbors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a small town America happening. There is no admission charge and ample free parking is available nearby. Donations to help maintain the park are always gratefully received. The Murphys Community Club is celebrating its 66th year of providing services and programs for the greater Murphys area. Its prime responsibility is the management and maintenance of the beautiful Murphys Community Park.

This is the eighth year the club has presented First Fridays in the Park. These summertime events continue to grow in popularity and have fast become a Mother Lode tradition.

Murphys Community Park is located on Algiers St. in historic downtown Murphys.

Membership in the Murphys Community Club is open to everyone and contributions are tax deductible. For further information call 728-8183.
