Summer Interpretive Programs Await the Forest Visitor at the Calaveras Ranger District
Sonora, Ca… The Stanislaus National Forest will be offering interpretive programs throughout the summer months at two amphitheaters in Calaveras Ranger District. Programs include: day hikes, children’s activities, and evening campfire programs. The interpretive programs provided will enhance the forest visitors experience by creating an exciting opportunity to learn about the many wonders within Stanislaus National Forest. Summer programs are a great way to have fun, learn about nature and history, and give families a chance to spend time together in the Great Outdoors. Many exciting presenters will be included in this year’s evening programs. Songs and stories, creative activities, and living history programs will showcase the talents of Native American speakers, professional actors and musicians, and wildlife experts. Daytime activities will include ranger guided hikes, a Junior Ranger program for children, the art of fish printing, making plaster animal tracks, and the creative art of making a Pine Needle Basket....
Stanislaus National Forest works with Three Forest Interpretive Association (3FIA), a non-profit organization, to provide these programs. All donations and materials fees go to 3FIA.
